The final of the Copa de la Reina 2020 finally arrived. There was no surprise in the end but there was another notable achievement for Barcelona as they beat Logroño 3-0 to win the competition for a seventh time, more than any other side.
Logroño battled hard and were desperate to cause an upset but they, like many others before them, were no match for Lluis Cortes’ Barça.
They almost held out until half-time but in the end goals from Alexia, Aitana and Jenni Hermoso at La Rosaleda in Malaga earned the trophy for the Blaugrana.
After also winning the league and the Supercopa last season, it means they end the 2019-20 campaign (finally!) with a treble.
It took Barça until the 42nd minute to open the scoring. When the deadlock was finally broken, it was via a penalty, won and converted by Alexia.
The wait for the second goal was shorter. Two minutes later, on the stroke of half-time, a rocket from Aitana made it 2-0.
All-time top scorer Jenni sealed the win in the second half after good work from Carolina Graham Hansen on the right.
