Shannen Doherty promises to never stop living after cancer returns to stage 4

Beverly Hills, 90210 star Shannen Doherty has insisted that she will not give up on life after confirming the cancer she thought had disappeared.

Three years after doctors gave her the go-ahead, the 48-year-old actress burst into tears over Good Morning America while confirming that her aggressive breast cancer has returned.

Shannen was diagnosed with cancer for the first time in 2015, but after treatment she was told that there was no trace of it in 2017.

He later found out that he was fighting stage 4 of the disease in February last year, but decided to keep it private.

Hours after his emotional aspect, Shannen shared a defiant message with his Instagram.

He published a panel of the Peanuts comic, showing Charlie Brown telling his pet dog: “We only live once, Snoopy”.

“Wrong,” says the beagle. “We only die once. We live every day!”

Shannen didn’t need captions, letting the image speak for itself.

But her friends and celebrity friends hurried to support her, with Sarah Michelle Gellar writing, “Beautifully said, my beautiful friend.

“I live my life with you, this makes me lucky.”

Kate Beckinsale and Rob Weiss added rows of red hearts, while Selma Blair – who herself is fighting multiple sclerosis – wrote: “You are illuminating the path. You are loved.”

During yesterday’s television interview, Shannen revealed why he kept his diagnosis out of the limelight – due to his ongoing lawsuit against the State Farm insurance company for damage to his home due to a 2018 fire.

“In a few days or weeks I will exit phase 4, my cancer is back and that’s why I’m here,” he told GMA.

“It’s a bitter pill to swallow in many ways. I’m petrified. I’m pretty scared.”

He explained how his home was damaged by the Wolseley fire and that he is trying to file a claim against State Farm to repair some of the damage.
