It's understood Gerrard is still in the hunt to secure a return for last season's PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.
The 22-year-old has made it to his reunion.
Gerrard also hopes to sign highly-rated Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo on a pre-contract agreement.
OJ joins fellow new boys Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie and Greg Stewart at Ibrox, while Steven Davis is already signed up.
