Simon Calder Answers Your Travel Questions Amid A Fire Crisis, Visiting Former Soviet States And Worsening Service In Cairo
Q We are in our sixties and we organize our escape from the UK quite cheaply every February. We were thinking of exploring Tasmania in 2020 since our only experience in Australia was a few days in Sydney.
We haven’t booked anything yet and wonder if it’s wise in light of the fire situation?
We had hoped to take walks along the coast, in national parks etc. It appears from the maps that only the south east of Tasmania is affected, but the rest of the south east of the country seems rather terrible. Some advice appreciated.
