The WRITE EXCELLENCE IN COLUMN is back from the nursing home to read another column exclusively here at I know, "I'm the Brett Favre of wrestling columnists", I had "more failures than Terry Funk". I am a hypocrite, blah blah blah blah. Guys, I've been a pro wrestling fan since the end of 1988. It's my favorite entertainment since I sting vs. Sting. Ric Flair on my uncle's house for Clash of the Champions # 1 on tape. I also have this great megaphone here To tell my wrestling opinion to many longtime readers … If you have 2019 FULL wrestling themes … I can not resist. We are sorry.

NOW – Let me clarify something for today's column. You know, for the usual comments section haters who just read my column titles and assume what the column is going on without reading it … I want next to the success, I love something Triple H has completed this NXT promotion, especially on various talent raids for the WWE RAW and Smackdown brands. Triple H has repeatedly filled up the NXT squad with talents that match his vision, and I really believe in the current NXT squad at the moment. In fact, I have just written a new column about NXT, in which I have declared you the WINNER of the recent "Wars" between WWE / NXT / AEW / NWA / ROH / Impact that you can read by clicking here.

Therefore, I am NOT here to beat the NXT promotion.

I am here to beat Vince McMahonActually, for his repeated abuse of talent, which can not be …

Let me repeat this for you comments section haters who only read the subject line and then scroll down to attack.

I explained NXT as the number 1 in my last column.

Let me repeat that again … NXT is my favorite ad. I do not want it to fail. This column describes exactly how Vince McMahon can ruin the wrestlers or the promotion to meet their usual "big and tall" tastes and preferences. I have been reporting to Vince here on for over 21 years and have followed WWE since late 1988, most of Vince McMahon Jr.'s tenure as WWE Chief.

The story repeats itself often and I always quote the quote from George Santayana those who do not remember the story are doomed to repeat it,

Vince McMahon He had several "invasion" angles of promotions and factions that he did NOT create … and how did they come back?

Extreme Championship Wrestling conquers RAW – early 1997
The ECW promotion "penetrated" one night in RAW and several wrestlers had some fights after that with the promotion in the spring of 1997. RAW was devastated in the ratings, and as some ECW wrestlers previously had some interference with live WWE events Vince was trying to invite the promotion to participate in RAW. The 1-show, in which the ECW was heavily involved, was very interesting, but led to no rating. Therefore, Vince rejected them and used them only as a kind of development area for wrestlers that he could not get over (Al Snow, Brackus, etc.). Instead, Vince McMahon and Creative Team member Vince Russo began painting the Adult Themed soundtrack. A year later, WWE again challenged the number 1 out.

World Championship Wrestling Invasion – Summer 2001
Total disaster. WWE's original plan after the closure of WCW was to host a WCW show with former WCW performers on Monday evening, and WWE would have Smackdown on the UPN network (Vince was also very present on this network at Smackdown ). When Vince McMahon saw the first games of WCW's talent list he had bought from Time Warner (except the top players), he was not impressed. After a rehearsal evening, he completely scrapped the plans and had ECW wrestlers on the WWE squad join WCW to take a double invasion angle, led by Shane and Stephanie McMahon. It was over in November when the WWE team defeated the ECW / WCW alliance. Over time, many of these WCW talents quickly disappeared, until 2003, when WWE decided to pay for their former top stars (Hogan, Nash, Hall, Steiner and Goldberg).

New World Order – 2002
Vince McMahon brought the NWO in front of Wrestlemania 18 to "poison" the WWE, which now had Ric Flair as a partner. The original NWO trio with Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan was back in the WWE and had some dream matches at Wrestlemania 18 in the sights. We had Hogan against the rock and Scott Hall against Steve Austin. NWO lost both matches … Hall should steal Austin's victory at Wrestlemania 18, but the plans were changed over the weekend. The motivation for Hall was gone and he returned to some personal demons afterwards. Hogan would soon leave the WWE and return with his Rock as a Babyface thanks to his Wrestlemania 18 match. NWO tried to add other WWE wrestlers as new members, but it was already over. WWE has armored the great WCW creation in just 1 month!

Extreme Championship Wrestling, Again – Reformed in 2006
In 2005 and 2006, WWE gave Paul Heyman the opportunity to hold two ECW reunion shows, mixing many of the top ECW people of the past with some WWE names. It was fantastic shows … The hype for One Night Stand 2006 was so great that Vince McMahon, in addition to RAW and Smackdown, wanted to launch a third brand as ECW with Paul Heyman in charge. In just 6 months, Paul Heyman was OUT. Many of the older ECW talents were also eliminated, especially after RVD and Sabu had their incident. The rest of the ECW vintage cars were released over time and it soon became another stale WWE brand.

NXT Invasion 2010 – The Nexus
In one of the coolest corners of WWE history, at least one night, the first class of the renamed NXT Developmental Territory entered RAW and unleashed the sacred hell on the wrestlers in the match (John Cena and CM Punk) as they ring the announcers attacks too. It was incredible … and then it broke apart quickly. For one, Daniel Bryan choked on the announcer with his tie and WWE Corporate was offended somehow. Bryan was released (or suspended) for this incident. The rest of the Nexus became John Cena's punching bags for the rest of the year. The only good thing was the introduction of two new members in Curtis Axel and "Husky" Harris, the latter who became Bray Wyatt while he was taken over by CM Punk as his new leader. WWE seized the great opportunity to put together a new group of new wrestlers to support and introduce their fans throughout 2010.

NXT calls from 2012-2019
Has anyone of Triple H's NXT promotion ever made it under Vince McMahon's rule? The Shield is the ONLY example, but I would argue that Creative has repeatedly upset Seth Rollin's nudge and Dean Ambrose has been completely disregarded after the Shield's release (which is why he's in AEW). Roman Reigns, yes, but Roman was selected by Vince McMahon as a talent and selected by Vince to join the shield. Triple H did NOT recruit him because he signed when John Laurinaitis was still in charge. Triple H took on the role of talent in mid-2012. What do we have to show since then? Each top guy from NXT has joined the WWE squad, but became the second violin of existing long-time stars (Lesnar, Orton, Cena) or was just a punching bag for Vince's Roman Reigns Pushs.

And I will continue to respond to this idea …

Territorial systems – 1980s
Besides Hulk Hogan, whom WWE used to occupy anyway … Who in the territorial system was pushed to become a top star? It's easy to argue with Roddy Piper, but Vince McMahon has been constantly trying to lose him to Hulk Hogan. It was Piper's refusal to keep Roddy alive. Topstars from other promotions such as Curt Hennig, Junkyard Dog, and many others have been hired to fill WWE's midcard or tag team department. In the 1980s it was certainly a LOADED midcard, but the top was very thin, and Hulk Hogan only played with a top player at the same time.

My POINT is that if Vince McMahon did NOT make the gimmick, the storyline or the wrestler a star before … He's fighting to push her as a top guy or to take the "invasion" seriously.

REMEMBER – Vince McMahon was actually reluctant to push "Stone Cold" Steve Austin 1996-1997 a top guy, although the Austin 3:16 shirt is by far his top merchandise seller. Because again Steve Austin came from the WCW … The same applies to Mick FoleyAlthough his creative control over the revision of the character has aroused his interest. He loved the undertaker just because he knew that WCW had abused him and Vince to make him new. Thus, the Undertaker seriously has a 29-year career at WWE as a top guy.

You can tell how much Vince McMahon LOVES his son-in-law Triple H because he lets him burn WWE money to do it NXT Advertising in the way HHH thinks it is. Vince was constantly breathing down his neck Jim Ross and John Laurinaitis by being forced to sign and train big and big stiffs that Vince wanted to sign. Vince is much less complicated with Triple H as his EVP of talent and operator of NXT. Do you want to spend millions on a training center? Sure … Are you signing a group of Indy wrestlers that are less than a meter tall and pushing them as their top guys? Sure, go ahead!

But do not expect big impulses for these NXT wrestlers when joining the WWE Roster …

If you just look at the photo in the ring where all the NXT's were in the ring Triple HThere were only a handful of people who could approach Triple H's size of 6.4 at eye level. When Adam Cole wrestled a 6'1 " Seth RollinsRollins seriously seemed to have 4-5 inches on the guy.

And that's the problem, people … It's easier to find people who look like them Undisputed era as it is to find guys who look like Seth Rollins or Triple H, I do not mean to pick the undisputed era, but they currently hold all NXT titles. Let's look at the size of each boy.

Adam Cole – Billed at 6 & # 39; & 0 & # 39; & # 39; (I have my doubts about that)
Bobby Fish – Billed at 5 & # 39; 11 "
Kyle O'Reilly – Billed at 6'0 "(more doubt)
Roderick Strong – Billed at 5 & # 39; 10 "

And each of the guys should qualify with his weight for 205 live. I do not know what's on their calculated weight (Adam Cole at 210, no way!), They look like cruiserweights! All of them…

So when a normal, everyday guy like me and many other fans see their size and weight … what about Vince McMahon, the guy who loves wrestlers who are tall and fat with muscle mass?

I'm worried that WWE is going to blow up this "NXT invasion" as well, as it did WWE Survivor Series 2019 Map:

– Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Shayna Baszler
– Viking Raiders against the new day against the undisputed era
– Team RAW vs. Team Smackdown Vs. Team NXT – for both women and men

Completely overexposed NXT in such a short time. In my opinion, there should be NO "invasion". The WWE should have used the Smackdown "Mechanical Problems" as an advertisement for NXT and should be done with it. A full-blown invasion?

WWE has to realize that not all fans like it NXT… When WWE had their weekly Top 10 list of viewers on the WWE network, the weekly NXT show was either down in the top 10 or not at all … Second, NXT gets fewer than 900,000 viewers a week with much lower YouTube views , It should cause confusion among your fans to promote them as your "little league" for years and then suddenly push them as an equivalent brand.

This is how the number of spectators in the "NXT invasion" look like:

– Smackdown 11/1: 2.5 million viewers, compared to 2 weeks earlier at around 2.4 million.
– Smackdown 11/8: 2.6 million viewers on the rise again!

It's good. And the 11/8 Smackdown was recorded and exposed to only a limited amount of NXT as it was recorded in a foreign country.

– RAW 11/4: 2.1 million, just 3,000 more than in the previous week. This also followed the Crown Jewel Event.

Ouch, that's NOT good!

– NXT 11/6: 813,000 viewers, after 580,000 in the previous week.

This is an improvement, although the total number of viewers is still weak in my opinion. However, they have closed the gap to AEW, although I would like to claim that AEW's audiences are due to them.

The RAW number worried me, even though there was an important NFL Monday Night football match between Dallas and New York … BUT we did not view football as a contender threat during the Monday Night Wars as crowd numbers for wrestling were seriously overriding 5-6 million a week.

If you give Vince McMahon A few inches, he'll need a mile. He has been covering Vince McMahon for more than 21 years Mr. Tito and for over 30 years as a wrestling fan I've seen him scapegoat NXT for the LOW RAW rating after the WWE crown jewel Event.

History keeps telling us that (a) Vince does not like anything he did not create or influence, and (b) does not like smaller wrestlers.

My prediction: Team WWE will wipe out Team NXT and then search the NXT list until early 2020. And, of course, he will use each of these NXT calls badly.

History shows that he will do just that …

And when that happens All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Be better prepared for the influx of free agents.

Because the story also implies that it's the discarded, unappreciated wrestlers of another promotion that cause the big momentum shifts. It was not that much Dean Ambrose (or Jon Moxley) left the WWE, it was about who else BESIDES Moxley would lock the WWE and participate with him in the AEW promotion.

Vince McMahon Be careful if you overexpose NXT in its WWE shows and treat their "invasion" like earlier entities for which it did not create them.

Those who do not remember the story are doomed to repeat it.

So just switch off … Until the next episode!
