Solano library system plans programs to celebrate ‘Star Wars’

Fairfield — The Solano County Library is celebrating the Star Wars myth this week with two programs aimed at fans of books, movies, and other cultural derivatives.

Tuesday is generally recognized by fans as May 4th Be With You Day. This is a variation of popular phrases in books and movies. “May the Force be with you”.

Children can get craft kits at the Swiss City Library on Tuesday. This will allow you to create a May 4th Be With You bookmark. The kit contains everything you need to bookmark Chewbacca, Child (Baby Yoda), or Princess Leia.

This kit is recommended for children over 10 years old. Supplies are limited. Only one kit will be distributed per person.

Next, the Solano County Library will host a Zoom celebration this weekend with members of the Rebel Corps Endoa Base.

Members of the group will share a children’s Star Wars book with presentations on costume making and activities. This program is intended for fans of all ages.

The session is scheduled for Saturday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Registration is required and is available on the library’s event page.
