Virgil Van Dijk led the hosts after 14 minutes, before Mo Salah packed the points for the league leaders by a breakaway in the stoppage time, following a period of prolonged pressure from the Reds to try and find a leveler.
Speaking to MUTV and Sky Sports after the game, the boss expressed his verdict on the execution, as well as Marcus Rashford’s suitability and potential transfers.
THE SECOND HALF REACTION
“I think the reaction has been really good. Obviously in the first 10 minutes of the second half they rejected us, sometimes it happens against good teams, but we had a goalkeeper who played fantastic. We had defenders doing their job and we got back into the game.
“We created possibilities, great possibilities, we created pressure, we created transitions. So the final ball or the final or the final cross was not good enough. The last half hour was really good.
