Somerset GP surgery closed due to suspected coronavirus outbreak

A medical intervention in the Westcountry was closed by health officials due to a suspected coronavirus outbreak.

The French Weir Health Center in Taunton has been closed by Public Health England, Somerset Live reports, with a medical practitioner who claims that the building was undergoing a thorough cleaning.

However, the pharmacy located next to the structure remains open.

Speaking to the Somerset County Gazette, Dr. Mike Smart said, “We have had a possible coronavirus case.

“We have been notified by Public Health England and have temporarily closed the case following their advice.

“We are still helping patients through phone calls.

“We have had a thorough cleaning of all possible areas of infection, but coronavirus has not been confirmed at this stage.”

The total number of coronavirus cases originating in the Chinese province of Hubei worldwide has exceeded 45,000 marks.

Nine cases of viruses have been diagnosed in the UK.
