Southern Nevada Health District COVID-19 Update

LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Health District received its delayed shipment of the Modern COVID-19 vaccine this morning. Based on its current inventory of the first and second doses of the vaccine, the Health District will open limited appointments for the first dose at Cashman Center for those who are currently eligible to receive the vaccine. The Cashman Center site will be open this week from Wednesday, February 24 to Saturday, February 27. People currently eligible to receive the vaccine include people 65 and older, healthcare workers, and people in frontline community and public safety. Support groups.

The Health District and partner clinics initially offered second-dose appointments only this week due to delays in vaccine shipments caused by severe weather in other parts of the country. The arrival of today’s shipment of the Moderna vaccine allows the Health District to expand its clinical capacity for first- and second-dose appointments. This week’s vaccine shipments are expected later in the week.

Appointment scheduling for those eligible is available on the Health District website at https://covid.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/vaccine/distribution/. People with questions or who need help scheduling appointments can call the COVID-19 Helpline at 1-800-401-0946. The line is staffed seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

More information on COVID-19 is available on the Health District website at www.SNHD.info/covid.
