Newcastle United fans have been sent to an uproar on social media following the latest transfer speculation linking them to a move for Phil Jones.
According to the Mirror, the Magpies intend to give Manchester United central defender a chance to stay in the top flight, as manager Steve Bruce is ready to take him on this summer.
Would Phil Jones be a good sign for Newcastle?
Not a chance!
The 28-year-old may be free to leave the Red Devils for £ 12 million with a difficult game moment to find under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Norwegian opted for skipper Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof as a first choice match.
It is fair to say that St James’s Park supporters are not behind the move, considering their reactions below.
Here’s what was said …
If we pay the money for Phil Jones, it will really be our fund as a football team.

Let West Ham have it, it’s terrible

Why do we want to buy the worst half of Central England in the Premier League?

I’d rather play with 10 men who have that clown on the court
– Stan Daroli (@standaroli) March 15, 2020
He is not good enough. Absolute waste of money.

Of what could actually be published, Jones was expelled for being a “clown” and an “ass” while a supporter claimed that it would be an “absolute waste of money” as it is not up to Premier League standards .
Another member of the Magpies faithful went so far as to say that it would have been a “cure-all” for the club if they had signed English.
This was reinforced by others who slammed it for being “rubbish” and “rubbish”.

It led to question marks as to whether Newcastle actually needs to sign another central defender.
Currently, Steve Bruce has a range of options to choose from, no less than five in effect with Captain Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Ciaran Clark and Florian Lejeune all at his disposal.
That’s why some fans claim that Jones is not an update on any of the above …
How will he act regularly here when lascelle, schar, lejuene, clark and Fernandes are all better than he is
– Shaun (@ ShaunGrey22) March 15, 2020
All our central defenders are better than him though

A supporter made a bold confrontation with Steven Taylor, who left Tyneside after more than ten years at the club with injuries that wreaked havoc on his career.
Steven Taylor MKII

While others weren’t surprised that a manager like Bruce was looking for Jones with another fan who believed the 59-year-old had to face the sack if these relationships were true before suggesting that there were better options out there.
If Steve Bruce really wants Phil Jones, he should be fired. Mike Ashley should absolutely veto this move. Don’t spend a cent on that player. Much better options out there @Nufc #nufc https://t.co/7LBmLHejLO

So the only two guys interested in fraud like Jones are Bruce and Moyes. Dinosaur club.
