The rap community pays tribute to 28-year-old up-and-coming British rapper Cadet.

A statement on his Instagram page said, "We, the family of Blaine Cameron Johnson, known as Cadet (Underrated Legend), want to share the sad news that he arrived in the taxi in the early hours of 9 February 2019 as a passenger deceased is route to a performance.

"Right now, we appreciate your patience and will share all the information with you as soon as possible, thank you for your support in advance."

Drake simply wrote "RIP" in response to his tragic death.

Former Arsenal and Crystal Palace striker Ian Wright wrote: "RIP my lil bro #Cadet #UnderratedLegend Life can be so cruel, thinking of family, friends and all its fans."

The Staffordshire police have confirmed that Cadet died in the early hours of the morning (February 9) in the crash in Betley.

In a statement, the troupe said, "Blaine Cameron Johnson, 28, of London, died after the Toyota Prius he was traveling in was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Combo van at 1:30 am declared dead.
