WINDSOR, ONT. – A shelter for the homeless Windsor is benefiting from a significant donation.
A group of Catholic parishes in the region donated $ 16,000 to Street Help.
Church of St. Jerome, Ste. Anne’s, Good Shepherd Parish, as well as St. Simon and St. Jude contributed to the donation to the refuge.
Anthony Nelson with the board of directors says that the donation will go to operations.
Nelson says community generosity was helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“There are new customers coming and we still have some of the old customers coming,” he said. “But we’re still giving them what we can because we’re getting donors who are giving us food and it’s great that they’re doing it.”
Street Help offers 200 to 300 meals a day to people in the community.
