Police update: 39-year-old man arrested

After today's incident, a police spokesman said:

Gloucestershire Constabulary is pleased to announce that the incident reported today at Columbia Close, Gloucester has been safely resolved.

A 39-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of killing threats and is in police custody.

To ensure the safety of those affected, a few people from neighboring properties were evacuated by police this afternoon and taken to the Roots Café, where they were immediately supported by the Gloucester City Homes. These people have now returned to their homes.

Alvin Street, which was closed during the incident, reopened at 8 pm
