The Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a donation of 900 food pantries from the Turkish Embassy in Mexico to support those affected by the cyclones Eta and Iota in the southeast of the country.
Both natural phenomena have caused deaths and serious damage to homes and infrastructure in Chiapas, Tabasco and Veracruz, so the country decided to show solidarity.
The general director for Europe, Bernardo Aguilar Calvo, the Turkish ambassador in our country, Tahsin Timur Söylemez, and the coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Sarper Çinar.
Ambassador Timur Söylemez said he hopes that Turkey can help the communities that need it most in the face of these “unfortunate” natural phenomena.
Other countries that have supported Mexico with money and food are France, Germany, Denmark, Finland and Russia.
