At 4am it's pretty easy to get lost in things.
You're half asleep, everything is dark and you want nothing more than rolling in a ball, curling up and going back to the land of dreams.
It is therefore understandable that in this state, one can make a rather amusing mistake, for example by mixing a photo of a thermometer with a positive pregnancy test.
This is the situation in which a teenager was found after his girlfriend sent him a picture in the early morning.
Izaak Torres, 18, of Costa Mesa, California, was reportedly scared after her girlfriend, Vanessa Marie, sent her a photo of a digital thermometer showing a reading at 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
The picture was accompanied by the words "saint f ***".
Izaak immediately launched a series of worried messages, such as "Comment" and "WTF".
He added: "You are on birth control.
Finally, he became awake enough to take a clear picture of Vanessa and realized what she really was.
He told Buzzfeed that he "felt like a fool" when he realized it.
Fortunately, his girlfriend understood the funny side of the situation and she decided to share it with Twitter users.
She posted screenshots of their conversation by writing: "I had a fever last night and my boyfriend thought the thermometer was a pregnancy test."
The tweet quickly became viral with over 31,000 retweets and more than 174,000 "I like".
People thought that Izaak's reaction was hilarious, a person commented, "You are pregnant and all 100 are his."
Another said, "He saw that you are 100% pregnant and I am dead."
A third added: "You, it's 100% to have a baby."
"TherMOMeter," joked a fourth.
It does not bother everyone to make jokes at their expense, though.
He added, "Honestly, I do not care what someone says.
"My daughter and I have good relationships and we are strong, we have posted this information so that people find it funny but do not disproportionate it."
