Cambridgeshire author Bianca D’Agostino wrote an edifying children’s book entitled You are not the boss of me.
As a result of her first published work, Bianca hopes to inspire and encourage children to be confident that they are doing everything they dream of, that making mistakes is only human and that these mistakes can be addressed and potentially corrected.
The book, now available and published by Austin Macauley, aims to give children the security of accomplishing everything they aim to do.
Teaching them to be positive and showing compassion towards them if they feel down or have made a mistake is the main theme behind it, as this approach will allow children to realize that it is right to make mistakes.
The author herself encourages her children to adapt a positive “I am” and “I can achieve” attitude in everything they do. Bianca, who is also qualified in Reiki and has a diploma in Mindfulness, says: “The idea was born from my children.
“They are very” animated “, I must say, and often they said to me:” You are not the boss of me. “So they inspired me to write the book, as well as seeing the challenges that had faced growth in school, right in society , and then the other kids around them too. “
Bianca, who works as a TA, continues: “There can be so many knock-downs for children, from peers and other children at school, and it is really having that self-confidence and self-esteem that in reality, I can do this , no matter who knocks me down – I know that if I think about it, that I can do it and that I’m fantastic. ‘
“And I think all children should have that thought, that mentality. So it’s really to encourage it and encourage parents and schools to follow.
“Society has changed so much and I think that to make it a better place for our children, we need to do what we can.”
