The crazy numbers behind Joe Rogan’s gigantic deal with Spotify

Joe Rogan has entered into a gigantic deal with Spotify worth $ 100 million (£ 82 million).

The 52-year-old was at the top of the podcast charts with “The Joe Rogan Experience”, making 190 million downloads a month last year.

And now his series of shows will be exclusive to the streaming service as part of a multi-year contract that will see the 11-year-old Rogan catalog be on Spotify from September 1st.

From then on it will be exclusively on the network and will not be available for access on any other platform by the end of 2020.

“It will remain free and will be exactly the same show,” Rogan said on Instagram

“It’s just a license agreement, so Spotify won’t have any creative control over the show. They want you to keep doing it like I’m doing now.

“I am thrilled to have support from the world’s largest audio platform and I hope people are there when we make the switch!”

Incredibly, this mega deal means that color commentator and interviewer Rogan is lined up to earn more than all the current UFC champions ever combined – except Conor McGregor combined.
