The iPhone 11 is Apple's cheapest new smartphone this year. The device is similar to the 2018 iPhone XR, but has a pimped inside, a slightly larger battery and a second camera on the back, which offers him a particularly wide perspective.
In contrast, the Pixel 4 XL is the best of Google's best this year. The phone is exactly the same as the normal Pixel 4, but has a larger screen (and higher resolution) and a larger battery.
The price difference between the two devices is remarkable. Apple's iPhone 11 will cost $ 649 for 64GB of storage, while the Pixel 4 XL will cost $ 829 for the same storage.
But it seems the higher price does not necessarily mean better performance or battery life.
PhoneBuff has recently compared the iPhone 11 to the Pixel 4 XL in a comprehensive battery life test. The YouTube channel is known for using robotic arms to quickly search a device's operating system.
The agonizing test forced both phones to open apps like YouTube, Google Maps, and games for a set amount of time to determine which battery on the phone had waned first.
After a total of 23 hours and 43 minutes, the Pixel 4 XL was first shut down. It should be noted that this corresponds to a duty cycle of seven hours and 43 minutes and a standby time of 16 hours.
Apple's cheaper iPhone 11 took another hour before its screen turned black. Overall, the device lasted 24 hours and 43 minutes, including a duty cycle of eight hours and 43 minutes and the same standby time of 16 hours.
Worse for Google: This is not the first test conducted by PhoneBuff that defeated Apple's Pixel 4 XL.
Earlier this month, the YouTube channel equipped the iPhone 11 Pro Max (which has exactly the same internals as the regular iPhone 11) with the Pixel 4 XL. The speed tests of PhoneBuff differ slightly from the battery comparisons. Here every phone has to open a number of apps. After loading any program, the device must reopen each app.
This not only tests the sheer speed of each phone, but also analyzes RAM management.
Despite the fast Snapdragon 855 processor and higher RAM, the Pixel 4 XL remained behind the iPhone, panting. Apple's device finished the test in 2:39, while Google's flagship crossed the finish line in 3:16.
The test by PhoneBuff has shown that the iPhone 11 Pro Max is better than the Pixel 4 XL, not only in terms of speed but also RAM management.
It should be noted that Pixel 4 should at least outperform the iPhone when it comes to RAM management, simply because the device has 6 GB, while the Pro Max has 4 GB. However, the PhoneBuff test has shown that this is simply not the case.
