The head of the law firm, which is fighting for the return of IS bride Shamima Begum to Britain, has charged thousands of legal aid, The Sun may reveal.

Dr. Since 2015, Farooq Bajwa and his Mayfair company have kick-started the youthful jihad home.

However, it was alleged that her case had been passed on to renowned human rights lawyer Gareth Peirce, who had been granted legal assistance on behalf of Begum on 19 March.

Dr. Bajwa was fined last year for claiming double the amount of legal aid for a case.

He said he has "very little experience in the field of criminal defense work" after claiming £ 7,300 despite agreeing to £ 3,000 cost limit for the National Taxing Team.

He claimed he had "misunderstood" the rules and was fined £ 2,000, and in May he had paid £ 9,500 to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

It means that 19-year-old Begum is trying to request legal assistance from Farooq Bajwa & Co to carry out additional checks as the SRA has introduced additional rules regarding their practice.

After the Dr. Bajwa and his firm established case "no work may be carried out with public funds without the consent of the SRA".

It has been advised to complete and prove appropriate and relevant legal aid training before any further legal aid is claimed.

The lawyer of Farooq Bajwa & Co, Tasnime Akunjee, has fought to return Begum to Britain on behalf of her family since 2015.

He wrote to the Ministry of the Interior last month, calling on her to revoke her client's citizenship as a "mercy act."

Akunjee confirmed that legal aid was granted after an application was made on 19 March – but he had to hand the case over to Peirce.

He said he could not take any instructions from Begum, as the authorities of the al-Roj refugee camp did not let him see him and so only represent the family.

It is understood that on behalf of the out-of-control Jihadi bride, Peirce has applied for legal assistance and has convinced officials that the normal documentation could not be provided by Begum itself.

The SRA confirmed that any attempt by Begum to seek legal assistance through Farooq Bajwa would be subject to strict controls.

It said that Begum would have to re-apply for legal aid if it decides to return to Farooq Bajwa. At that time, the arrangements would be scrutinized.
