Even in a disappointing season for Arsenal, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has maintained his composure and has continued to score goals on a regular basis.
His 20 goals in all competitions, despite playing often on the left wing, has encouraged many members of the European elite to weigh the offers for him.
Real Madrid is among the many suitors of Aubameyang, and the Express reports that the club’s coach, Zinedine Zidane, has informed the Arsenal player who is on his wish list.
Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane are Real Madrid’s preferred targets, and Aubameyang is positioned as a ‘plan B’ in case neither of them can be signed.
Haaland was one of last season’s revelations, breaking multiple scoring records with Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund., team joined in the winter market
Mané has been remarkably consistent during his four years at Anfield and has arguably surpassed Egyptian Mohamed Salah as Liverpool’s most important attacker.
Zidane’s desire for a new scoring threat comes from the poor performance of Serbian Luka Jovic. Signed from Eintracht Frankfurt for € 60 million last summer, the young forward has only scored two goals in 24 games.
The search for a center forward will continue for the next few months but, for now, gunner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will remain in the background.
The 30-year-old Gabon international joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, as the final signing of the reign of Arsene Wenger.
Since making his debut for Arsenal, Aubameyang has scored 61 goals in 96 games and has become one of the most beloved footballers of the English side.
