Pawel Relowicz was charged with voyeurism, burglary and indecency

A Polish bacon factory worker arrested on suspicion of kidnapping missing student Libby Squire has been charged with a series of offenses not related to the 21-year-old's disappearance.

Libby, 21, spent one night when she disappeared near her home in Hull, East Yorkshire.

Pawel Relowicz, 24, was charged with voyeurism, burglary and indecency.

The police had time until 9:00 pm last night to charge the butcher, 24, for the disappearance of Miss Squire, but was extended by 24 hours.

Detective Superintendent Matt Hutchinson said: "24-year-old Pawel Relowicz was charged today for voyeurism, public decency and three cases of burglary.

On January 19, 2019, it was reported that a violation of public decency had occurred, and on December 26, 2018, a voyeurism violation was reported in Hull, East York.

"The three burglaries were reported between December 2017 and January 2019."

Relowicz has been remanded and will appear before the Hull Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday 11th).

Relowicz was arrested on Wednesday and officials searched his home for information about their disappearance.

Relowicz was arrested at the rented house in Hull, where he lives, with his wife and two small children.

His home is half a mile from the bank, where Miss Squire was drunk just before midnight eight days ago.

Relowicz's mother was stunned last night after her son was charged with burglary and public indecency-but not the kidnapping of Libby Squires.

"I do not know what to say, I'm just speechless," said 52-year-old Marzena Relowicz.

& # 39; Why are you holding him in jail? Something is wrong here. I just do not understand it and it's too much to grasp. & # 39;

MailOnline informed the eight-year-old mother that her son had been charged with the crime.

He was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping the student and interviewed for the maximum time before charges had to be filed or released.

Earlier, Ms. Relowicz, who spoke at the family home in the village of Warszewice, said she needed medication because she was so stressed by the arrest of her son.

She said she was anxiously waiting on the phone for news of her son.

Ms. Relowicz insisted that his son could not have been involved in the disappearance of Libby.

Pawel Relowicz emigrated to Britain from the northern Polish village of Warszewice five years ago and worked as a butcher in a bacon factory in Malton, North Yorkshire.

Mrs. Relowicz sobbed when she told MailOnline on Friday that her son was "not a murderer" – but he revealed that he had found a "crying girl" in his car and offered her the night the missing student disappeared , an elevator.

Last night, the video surveillance was investigated by the police, who were looking for the missing student.

Grainy film from a camera near the area Miss Squire was last seen in shows a man smoking a car. Later another figure opens the passenger door and "someone or something" is put in it.

The smoker then gets into the car and drives off. Police say the clip – obtained by ITV News – is one in a hundred hours of material being investigated and officials remain "open-minded."

Earlier today Libby's mother, Lisa, was seen hugging a police officer after a service in her hometown to mark the tenth day after her disappearance.

She was escorted by Libby's father Russ at the vigil in the Hull Community Church today.

In the meantime, detectives searched infrared cameras to search the 21-year-old's home and searched for a gutter in front of Relowicz's home.

It has seen the police remove computers from Relowicz's house, and the front and back doors of his home have now been sealed by sheet-metal officers.
