This is what the first Airbus A330 of the new Spanish airline World2fly looks like

This is how the first aircraft of the new Spanish airline looks like World2fly, It’s about a Airbus A330-300 registration EC-LXR and its paint job was done in Ireland. This airline is a project of the Iberostar hotel company, which will begin operations this year. World2fly will be directed by Bruno Claeys, former director of Evelop Airlines.

This Airbus A330-343E registration EC-LXR has the serial number 1097, is almost 11 years old, making its first flight on February 19, 2010, granting it the test registration F-WWKL. It has a capacity for 388 passengers and is powered by two Rolls Royce Trent 772B-60 engines.

Curiously, its first operator was the defunct airline Iberworld (later known as Orbest Orizona Airlines) which was also founded by Iberostar in 1998 with the registration EC-LEQ. Later the airline had several operators among them: PAL Airlines Chile, Orbest Orizona Airlines, XL Airways France and Air Europa.

The A330 was delivered to World2fly on January 1 of this year. Although as we commented here in Transponder 1200 the airline estimated to initially operate a Airbus A350, this aircraft was incorporated temporarily to later be replaced by the A350. The first destinations that World2fly will operate will be: Cancun, Cuba and Punta Cana.

The plan to create a new airline is to reinforce the operator of tours Spanish. And despite the fact that we are in the middle of a severe crisis, the pandemic will not stop their expansion intentions, so they expect the airline to be 100% operational to be able to meet the demand for the next summer season 2021.

Grupo Iberostar, who is the creator of this project, is a multinational company based in Palma de Mallorca in Spain founded in 1986. This consortium has several divisions such as Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, Iberoservice, Iberostate and Iberostar Club.
