This morning in hilarious mistake when the caller wins a holiday in Edinburgh, where he lives

If you get a call to say you’re going live on This Morning to potentially win a vacation, you’ll be hoping for a glamorous UK getaway or a luxurious trip abroad.

But it really wasn’t meant to be for today’s lucky caller when he won a vacation in Edinburgh … where he practically lives.

The mistake occurred during the first day of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as head of the ITV favorite and while the duo remained faceless, the spectators found it all hilarious.

Thanks to the new network program, This Morning had another 30 minutes to fill and therefore opted for the new Spin To Win game.

When Holly and Phil called the viewer, they needed to answer with a password in order to win a prize.

Caller Anne got the right answer and it was up to the presenters to spin the wheel to decide whether she would win a holiday in the UK, a holiday in Europe or a special “star party”.

The game started off great

“You will visit fantastic Edinburgh,” they said to Anne after the wheel stopped during the UK break. “And you’re about to explore this hilltop capital in style. Two magical nights at the historic Glass House Hotel – what a treat.”

While for many it would be a real pleasure, for Anne it was close enough to home.

Phil seemed to have his suspicions and when he asked Anne where he lived, he was almost confirmed.

“Close enough to Edinburgh,” he replied, leaving Holly and Phil chuckling and surprised.

Then came the mistake …

“Will we shoot again, unless you want to go to your hometown?” Phil then proceeded to ask trying to correct the mistake.

“You could win a vacation like somewhere in the world, do you want?” Holly said before Phil jokingly added, “Turn it over again, otherwise it would have just gone down the street.”

In the end everything worked well enough and Anne ended up taking a trip to Florence, Italy.

But it didn’t stop viewers from making fun of the accident.

But in the end, everything went well

“I can’t believe a Scottish person just won a trip to Edinburgh in the new game of This Morning,” tweeted one.

Another added: “Only on #ThisMorning was it possible to play a new game for the first time and the caller from Edinburgh wins a holiday in ….. EDINBURGH !!!”

“It was the absolute gold of the TV, I can’t stop laughing who lives near Edinburgh and won a holiday in Edinburgh !!! #thismorning,” said a third.

Another said, “I really enjoyed laughing again. The lady from Edinburgh wins the holidays in Edinburgh.”

Start as you intend to go this morning.

This morning it airs on weekdays from 10:00 on ITV.
