Speaking at a virtual summit between UK and Indian trade partners on Tuesday, British Trade Minister Liz Truss said that “We will begin talks on a full free trade agreement with India in the fall“.
“It will work with the World Trade Organization (WTO) to see if it can increase the supply of vaccines worldwide“.
“We want India’s tariffs on cars and whiskey to be lowered or removed“.
“He expects to see the first results of the trade talks between the UK and India early next year.”
These comments come a day after the UK government announced a £ 1bn trade and investment deal with India, creating more than 6,500 jobs in the UK.
