Turkey condemns Armenia for rocket attack on Ganja

The Diplomat

The Turkish government “strongly” condemns the rocket attacks perpetrated by Armenia against Ganja, the second largest city in Azerbaijan, on October 10, according to a statement sent by its Embassy in Spain to The Diplomat.

The attack, according to the statement, “caused the death of nine civilians and injured another thirty-nine.” According to Turkey, “it is the latest example of provocations by the Armenian administration to widen the conflict outside the Azerbaijani territories under occupation.”

Ankara, which calls for the intervention of the international community, accuses Armenia of “violating international humanitarian law by continuing its illegitimate occupation” and adds that these actions “constitute a clear manifestation of its well-known occupying and offensive mentality”.
