Turkey condemns Italian prime minister’s “offensive” comments on Erdogan

The Turkish Foreign Minister on Thursday condemned “offensive” comments by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, who called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a “dictator” after the snub against the president of the European Commission in Ankara.

“We strongly condemn the populist, offensive and irrational comments of Italian Prime Minister Draghi,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu tweeted after his services summoned the Italian ambassador to Ankara.
