Turkish security forces arrested 16 people yesterday in the capital Istanbul for alleged “Daesh funding.”
Local media cited security sources as saying that the Istanbul police anti-terror division launched an “operation to arrest those suspected of financing Daesh elements.”
“On Sunday, the security forces carried out raids on several homes in Istanbul, during which they arrested 16 suspects,” the sources said.
The sources added that the security forces were continuing to investigate the suspects’ actions in relation to “opposition to the law to prevent the financing of terrorism” and “affiliation to an armed terrorist organization”.
