Santander renews its support for the University by providing funds for scholarships, research and to develop activities aimed at entrepreneurship and training.
Madrid, April 7, 2021 – PRESS RELEASE
The International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona) and Banco Santander have renewed their collaboration agreement, whose relationships date back to 2004. With this agreement, the financial institution reinforces its commitment to UIC Barcelona, thus strengthening access to a quality university education, the promotion of entrepreneurship among university students and the improvement of employability and access to quality employment for young people.
Through Santander Universities, the entity shows its support, once again, for the University by providing funds for scholarships, research and to develop activities aimed at entrepreneurship and training.
Specifically, the funds will go, one more year, to the Santander Alumni Scholarship program, through which 18 University students will be able to benefit. UIC Barcelona also participates in the Santander Progreso Scholarship program, a program that facilitates access to higher education for students with the best academic records at the national level, of any undergraduate and postgraduate course, taking into account their socio-economic situation. .
Regarding research funds, thanks to the contribution of Banco Santander, a young postdoctoral researcher will be able to join the IsFamily Santander Chair, of the Institute of Superior Family Studies (IESF) of UIC Barcelona. The object of the research will be to study the family as an area of transfer of resources between generations from various criteria: the economy, health and care of people and education.
Likewise, thanks to this collaboration, the University will promote training activities aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit and the creation of new innovative companies with social impact.
