During his stay in Indonesia, Raab met with the host president, Joko Widodo, and Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, to discuss the bilateral trade that annually reaches 3.7 billion dollars.
In particular, the two ministers signed on the occasion a memorandum of understanding on coordination in the fight against terrorism.
According to Marsudi, the two sides agreed to foster the partnership in the health sector to accelerate the economic recovery by adding 10 priority sectors.
The chancellor also expressed Jakarta’s concern about the new law proposed in United Kingdom which requires the responsibility of quality control and origin of agricultural products such as palm oil, cocoa and rubber, while showing the hope that both nations can overcome difficulties.
In addition, the two diplomats discussed international issues such as the situation in Myanmar and the Middle East and the holding of the XIX United Nations Summit on Climate Change (COP-19) and the position of G20 president of Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the British Chancellor is visiting Brunei today, in which he will meet with his host counterpart, Dato Erywan.
Before returning to his country tomorrow, Raab will attend the second UK ministerial dialogue.ASEAN to study the association policies of the countries of the regional grouping./.
