Underground to reopen 56 takeaway stores in Scotland

Subway will reopen 56 takeaway stores in Scotland this week.

The sandwich chain is opening a quarter of all stores in the UK as part of a gradual reopening plan during the blockade.

Most Scottish subway stores will reopen from today with a handful opening their doors later in the week.

The staff will wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and new signs and markers will have been installed to ensure that social distances are maintained.

Customers will be able to enter the shops to make a purchase or will be able to order through the Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo delivery services. Orders over £ 10 will receive free delivery.

Thanks to the frontline workers, the staff of the NHS will also receive a 25% discount on their orders.

Subway village director Colin Hughes said, “Everyone in our Subway family and the larger communities they serve has shown great ability to adapt to these difficult times we are currently in.

“We are extremely grateful for their continued support in anticipation of this next phase of our gradual reopening, which will allow us to continue serving our communities and frontline workers who have helped us so much in the past few weeks.”
