“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” was once not only the starting shot for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s becoming Brangelina, but also a complete success in the cinemas. The two played a supposedly normal couple, whose marriage is stuck in a dead end. That changes when both have to reveal their double life as professional killer – and that they were mutually targeted. Amazon now wants this story Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”) and Donald Glover (“Atlanta”) retelling as a series, as the two announced in social media postings. The two will both play the leading roles and act as executive producers, with Francesca Sloane as the showrunner. After it was announced during the week that CBS is not only discontinuing an “NCIS” spinoff (in New Orleans), but is also planning a new one (in Hawaii), “Variety” and “Deadline” now also report plans for one another offshoot of the “FBI” series. That doesn’t come as a surprise, since it is based on franchise specialist Dick Wolf, who is also responsible for the “Law & Order” universe and the “Chicago” series. In any case, “FBI” and “FBI: Most Wanted” should also be dealt with “FBI: International” companions. As the name suggests, it is about the international activities of the FBI, which maintains branches in numerous countries and also works there with local investigative authorities. CBS did not want to comment on the report.

Two things come together in the project: on the one hand, Burton has experience in staging social outsiders through, for example, “Batman” or “Edward Scissorhands”; already told the history and development of Superman in “Smallville”. And what will the comedy series be about? Wednesday Addams is accompanied in the first eight episodes in her school life at the Nevermore Academy with all the newly developing relationships. “Mom”: At CBS it’s time to say goodbye to a long-lived star from the Chuck Lorre series. Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, the sometimes melancholy comedy “Mom” was extended by a seventh and eighth season in 2019. However, protagonist Anna Faris got out shortly before the production of the eighth season and had to do without her from then on. Fans now generally have to part, because the series will not only celebrate its season finale on May 6, but also the series finale.

“The Neighborhood”: CBS donated a fourth season of its comedy about the two different families, the Butlers and the Johnsons. The Briton, who not only made up part of the protagonist duo, but also wrote the script, vented his anger and instagrammed his anger beyond being relegated to the digital world. The Equalizer

That the series “The Equalizer” would have a strong debut due to the slot right after the Super Bowl was out of the question – but a guarantee that things would go well on the regular slot is not, as experience over the past few years has shown. But the new edition of the classic with Queen Latifah now also cut a really good figure a week after the Super Bowl: 8.2 million viewers tuned in on Sunday – that was of course significantly less than the 20 million in the previous week, but it is still moving Series in an area that is currently only surpassed by “NCIS”. In the target group, with a rating of 0.9 percent, things didn’t look that good anymore, but CBS can live with this value too. The new “Silence of the Lambs” series “Clarice”, on the other hand, got off to a rather sobering start on Thursday last week with only four million viewers and a target group rating of 0.5 percent.

Young Rock

CBS has its “Young Sheldon”, NBC now “Young Rock”. The new sitcom, which is about the childhood of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, made a really good debut on Tuesday: 5.3 million viewers saw the first episode, the target group rating was 1.0 percent. “Kenan” could not quite maintain this quota level afterwards, but it was still solid with 4.2 million viewers and 0.8 percent in the target group. Meanwhile, ABC started on Sunday “American Idol” into a new season – the 19th overall, the fourth since switching to ABC. Almost seven million viewers followed the start, the rating among 18 to 49 year olds was 1.2 percent. With this, “Idol” was roughly on par with the quota level for young and old that was achieved on average over the entire season last year. However, the season opener was a lot more successful with just over eight million viewers. In all likelihood, even with this format, one should ultimately have to reckon with decreasing reach in classic TV for the entire season.

Your Honor

Showtime did with the series “Your Honor” with Bryan Cranston in the lead role landed a real hit. At the season finale, the range increased again significantly by almost 30 percent to 1.7 million viewers; compared to the season opener, the range has more than doubled. Showtime series also only collect the majority of their viewers over time. The series now has over six million viewers per week, and the 7 million mark is already shaking. “Your Honor” is well on the way to becoming the most successful debut season of a series in the history of the pay TV station. Meanwhile, HBO is happy about the great success of “The Undoing”. It was broadcast a while ago, but here, too, a high proportion is only collected gradually. The series now has 12.3 million viewers, making it the most watched HBO series of the past year.
