Some will say that there are no more seasons. April 2021 has accumulated successive records in Brittany. Most sunny from France, she also experienced heat peaks and many jellies morning.
Météo Bretagne has drawn up the climate report for the month of April for eight Breton resorts. Starting with heat records, already observed at the end of March and confirmed on Thursday 1is April: 23.6 ° C to Saint Brieuc, 25.1 ° C to Nantes, 25.4 ° C to Rennes, 26.1 ° C to Vannes and 27.6 ° C at Brest.
With the exception of a disturbance between April 9 and 10, the weather was then generally dry and sunny. So much so that the Brittany won, once is not custom, the title of sunniest region in France in front of the Côte-d’Azur and Corsica! Stations Saint-Cast-Le-Guildo and Dinard get the first two places on the podium.
Rainfall was particularly low with a historic drought in Ushant (Finistère) with 1.2 mm, or even 7 mm in Brest and 8 mm in Nantes.
Another record, that of the number of morning frosts: 15 to Landujan (Ille-et-Vilaine), 12 in Lamballe (Côtes-d’Armor) or Pleucadeuc (Morbihan), 9 to Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine)…
“If during the day the sunshine has allowed the temperatures to find more spring colors, the morning freshness has never abandoned us. The clear night skies have caused a record number of frosts.”
A trend which seems to be confirmed at the beginning of May with persistent frosts. Saturday 1is May, with a temperature of -0.8 ° C in Brest-Guipavas, a new monthly record was broken: the previous one dated May 5, 2019 with -0.2 ° C.
