Snow is expected in parts of the country just days after storm Erik plagued the UK.

Temperatures drop to -1 ° C in some places, as snow is predicted in hilly areas.

One day after the United Kingdom was hit by heavy winds and floods, a major disruption ensued after Storm Erik brought the travel chaos and power shortage to the UK.

Storm Erik has now left the UK, but snow is expected later in the evening across England and Wales.

"Showers and the danger of a hilltop snow will continue to advance southeast through many countries of England and Wales, clearing out all but the extreme southeast of England by the end of the night, and most places will remain dry with clear spells." Forecasting from Meteogroup UK said.

"Rainy rain and maybe some snow in the hills will also push south into northern and eastern parts of Scotland for a while, leaving a mostly dry, cold and freezing night for many in Scotland and Northern Ireland."

Looking to the future, it will be a cold and chilly day for many on Monday, with a dry and beautiful day for most with sunshine.
