West Brom is ready to make Matheus Pereira’s loan deal with Slaven Bilic permanent, stating that the Brazilian has done “more than enough” to prove his worth.
The 23-year-old has been a revelation since joining the Baggies on loan throughout the season from Sporting Lisbon in the summer, producing 10 assists and also finding the net five times.
And with the club having an option to sign the wing permanently, Bilic intends to activate that clause as soon as the January transfer window opens.
“It should happen as he likes it here, he loves it here,” said Slaven Bilic. “He found himself here and feels very important.
“We love him, he loves us. He is important to us, we are important to him.
“We have an option and obviously we will activate it as soon as possible because it has done more than enough to make sure we are a great player for us.”

‘Diangana situation from our hands’
However, Bilic remains less confident about the future of Grady Diangana, who is on loan for one season from West Ham.
The 21-year-old, who is expected to miss the high-level league clash against Leeds due to an injury, live on Sky Sports Football, could be remembered following David Moyes’ appointment as director of Hammers.
Bilic admits that although he would like to keep the attacking midfielder at the club, he acknowledges that the situation is out of his hands.
“For someone so young, he quickly became a prominent player on a demanding team for a big prize,” said Bilic.
“Feeling that pressure and facing it is something extraordinary – it’s fantastic for him and it’s good for us.
“He loves it here and in the long run, it’s great for West Ham United with the plan for him to stay with us all season.
“But now they have changed their manager, we don’t know what will happen, but we hope it will remain. It is out of our hands but we are doing our best.”
