Whelan wonders if Spurs could dive into the transfer window to cover the setback, suggesting that Mourinho doesn’t have the necessary options available to him in North London.
Speaking of Kane’s blow, Whelan said Football insider: “I would say at least six weeks, with a hamstring. You have to be very, very careful. Who gets into his void? There is no one who can really step on Harry Kane’s boots, he is the best striker in Europe.
“To fill it, especially when you need goals to win your football games, and Mourinho needs every single player to chase that place in the Champions League, it’s a big blow.
“Can he go to the window, to the market, does he have the money available from Daniel Levy? I’m not sure, but you definitely won’t get an attacker of his caliber, that’s for sure. Can Son play in the middle? We will have to wait and see, but this is a devastating blow for Tottenham. ”
Kane has scored 17 goals in 25 appearances this season, 11 of those strikes arriving in the Premier League.
Mourinho opted for the role of Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son in the role of center forward against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, the Brazilian found the net in the 1-1 draw.
