Days before the Megxit became official, William asked Harry not to rob his son of the power to grow up close to his cousins.
In an emotional conversation with his brother Harry before he decided to announce his departure as senior royal, Prince William asked him to reconsider his decision, since, in addition to the commitments and titles that he could lose with this step, it would be done set aside his son Archie of his right to grow up with his cousins, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte.
According to New Idea Royals magazine, Prince Harry regretted having to go through this, but that there was no going back in his decision and that of Meghan Markle.
“Harry said something like ‘there will always be a place for you in our lives,’ but he also regretted that he could no longer be around his nephews,” says the source.
Writer and Vanity Fair correspondent Kate Nicholl had previously said about Harry’s close relationship with his nephews. Especially when he also lived in Kensington Palace, just yards from Brother William’s family.
“Before Meghan, it was common for Harry to call William to find out if the children were awake, ‘I bought them something’, and there Harry often went to visit George and Charlotte,” he reveals.
For Nicholl, Harry is deeply missed in everyone’s life at the palace.
