With the ‘Cucho’ Hernández, Getafe beat Barcelona

Spain. The team in which the Colombian plays is one of the leaders.

Pereiran forward Juan Camilo ‘Cucho’ Hernández started and played 88 minutes in Getafe’s 1-0 victory against Barcelona in the Spanish Soccer League.

Jaime Mata converted a penalty to secure the third win of the season. The Spaniard scored after Dutchman Frenkie de Jong’s foul on Togolese Dakonam Djene at 56.

Barça suffered its first defeat of the course and stalled with seven units in ninth position; Getafe climbed to second place with 10 points, the same from Real Madrid, Granada and Cádiz.

Pedro González “Pedri”, 17 years old, was the most relevant for the Catalans, generating dangerous actions before the break. In his boots an approach was born in which the American Sergiño Dest gave the ball to the arrival of Argentine star Lionel Messi, who hit a post at 19.

The Colombian Hernández had the options to ensure the victory, first with a shot that the Brazilian goalkeeper Neto deflected when he was aiming for the goal and crashed into the crossbar at 83. Five minutes later he was free before the goal and took a shot from over.

At the comeback Djene came close to committing an own goal with a header that hit the crossbar.

With this result, Getafe ended a nine-year streak without beating the Catalans at the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum (1-0, on November 26, 2011).

Barcelona must now prepare for their first Champions League game, on Tuesday against Hungarian team Ferencváros, and then face Real Madrid on Saturday in the classic.
