A construction worker at St Enoch Center in Glasgow has died of serious injuries.

Police and ambulances arrived at the scene around 3:20 pm, following a wounded man while he was involved in construction work in the Glasgow City Center Mall.

The police did not confirm how this 43-year-old man discovered his injuries.

He was working on a £ 40 million recreation development set up on the former BHS site of the center.

A Scottish police spokesman said: "A 43-year-old man died of serious injuries while he was working on a construction site at the St Enoch Center in Glasgow on Thursday, August 22, 2019.

"Emergency services were called around 3:20 pm, but the man was declared dead on the scene.

"A joint investigation by the Scottish Police and the Office of Health and Safety is underway and a report will be submitted to the Attorney General".
