Wuhan pneumonia outbreak: second person killed by new deadly viral strain – World news

Two people were killed by a new deadly viral strain while Chinese authorities warn that it has spread to other countries.

Wuhan pneumonia is the name of a new coronavirus that has affected 41 people since it erupted in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Wuhan officials said last weekend that 41 people suffered from pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus and that a 61-year-old man had become the first to die. Today news is emerging that a second person has died.

The patient who died is a 69-year-old man who saw the onset of the disease on December 31, according to Chinese media reports.

He died on January 15th.

China has tried to belittle the hypothesis that it could be a reappearance of the Sars epidemic, which killed hundreds in 2002 and 2003.

The World Health Organization said it was consulting the Thai and Chinese health authorities after a case was reported in Thailand.
