After a trial period, we reviewed the Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC, POCO’s second smartphone since the F1 Pro, which came out in early September.
This mid-range smartphone has arrived with specifications that we are not used to seeing in other models, much less at the sale price of this one. With this smartphone, POCO reaffirms its brand and differentiates itself from its “brothers” the Redmi, as well as being a great competitor against brands such as OnePlus or Realme.
Its specifications, some of them leaked before its launch, already augured the success it finally had and that exceeded all expectations with more than 30,000 units sold in its first 24 hours. A success also fostered by the incredible promotion that was given both in terms of advertising and coupons and discounts at its launch that left the POCO X3 at a starting price with which it was impossible to compete.
Unboxing Xiaomi POCO X3
The specs of this new POCO aren’t the only thing that stands out from the mid-range. The design that it offers us with its packaging is typical of a high-end smartphone. Its minimalist but careful and elegant design, where the typography and the chosen colors combine and stand out, makes it more than a simple container box.
This display of design by the brand has the basic elements inside, but it also consists of a charger (something that not all devices carry anymore) with its own design, attention to detail and that once again shows that bet in this model for a mid-range more in price, than in everything it offers us. Here I leave you the unboxing of the POCO X3 in case you want to see those details and many more:
Features Xiaomi POCO X3
The Xiaomi POCO X3 has a large screen, not only for size but also for quality, but as a consequence that also entails in this case a large size of the device and therefore, an increase in its weight.
On the other hand, this smartphone internally has an enviable quality in terms of performance, since absolutely all of them complement and balance each other to respond to the user.
The POCO X3 has a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G that improves 15% to its predecessor. In addition, those who use the smartphone as a device to play video games can enjoy its 120Hz, screen cooling and 5.160 mAh from battery (perfect for long games).
On the other hand, Game Turbo 3.0, allows you to play and manage other applications without leaving the game, as well as better configure the space at the touch level, that is, it consists of a section (with its own interface) dedicated exclusively to video games.
In addition to that processor and that large-capacity battery (accompanied by 33W fast charging), the Xiaomi POCO X3 at the camera level, has four sensors, a 64MP one, a 13MP wide angle, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.
These cameras are accompanied by very versatile tools both for use when photographing or recording, as well as for subsequent editing from the image gallery. These characteristics, together with the incorporation of a double speaker, highlight the important position of the POCO X3 as a mid-range, since they are typical of high-end models and are not available on all Xiaomi devices.

Of all these specifications we highlight the following in this article.
After several weeks of use, and testing all the features offered by the POCO X3, we see how the battery meets expectations, allowing normal use but also making the most of video games without the durability of this being a problem, and that it has a large screen that could consume, something that would normally be a problem at the consumption level and that we do not perceive in this case.
Large screen, large phone, and with it an excessive weight of the POCO X3 that also increases the difficulties of maneuverability (especially when taking selfies) and that if we take into account that our hand can barely cover a large part of the screen, makes it annoying many times.
On the other hand, the cameras of the POCO X3 have a great quality, but what really makes us enjoy this device are the options it gives us at the level of tools, such as the VLOG that allows us to make 12-second videos with transitions and music, which is perfect if you like to upload content to social networks. Hopefully the function VLOG improve with updates and allows us to record vertically, an option is not available right now.
Long exposures and the different options that it gives us have more of an artistic point of view, because they don’t really get the results that are shown, especially if we don’t use a tripod, something that is necessary for all of them, and reduces usability in the day to day. It should also be noted that they are not exclusive to the Xiaomi POCO X3, but to its operating system, present in other mid-range and high-end models.
The 120Hz is noticeable, not so much in social networks, but at the level of video games, a section that we have been able to really enjoy with the Game Turbo, which has turned out to be truly practical on a day-to-day basis, especially with those WhatsApp that sometimes arrive and that we have to answer, but we don’t want to leave the game.
The dual speakerIt is a new addition but it is negatively affected by its vibration. This is especially noticeable when playing video games by the position of the hands in the POCO X3, since they are just below them. In any other case, as in the use made to listen to music, the double speaker meets expectations and you can tell the difference to other models with just one. In addition, it is always a plus to be able to improve the sound and adapt it to our use, something that we are allowed from Phone Settings and that gives us multiple options.
Thus, the Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC offers us speed and a number of tools that are balanced and allow us to have many options on a day-to-day basis.
Conclusions Xiaomi POCO X3
The POCO X3 is a great device that not only has great features but is really useful, meets expectations and is functional. All these also complement each other: a large screen, but with a battery that does not affect use, as well as cooling so that it does not overheat after long periods of playing video games or watching videos …
The problem lies in its size, but it is something we are going to have to get used to, considering that it is an upward trend in all makes and models, as well as its weight.
Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC is perfect for those who want to have a high-end device but at a mid-range price, since it allows us to have many features only possible in the first one. It is perfect if you are interested in using it for video games or photography but not spending excessive money.
If this is not the case, if we are going to make standard use of social networks and WhatsApp, other lower-priced models may be more useful. Even taking into account the large number of offers that usually exist, if we get one of them, the POCO X3 NFC becomes a very good purchase option.
