YouTuber Brennen Taylor apologizes for past “insensitive jokes”

Brennen Taylor he is apologizing to his fans.

On July 4th, the YouTube star landed on Twitter to tackle the controversial footage that has surfaced since he was a teenager.

“I noticed that some of my old tweets and videos from when I was 16 have surfaced online … I want to own and take responsibility for the vocabulary I used and the insensitive jokes I made” shared with his followers. “Looking back at who I was and how reckless I was with the things I published so that everyone could see … for what? A laugh? Well, they weren’t funny and I’m so sorry.”

Brennen continued, “Who I was then is in no way a reflection of what I am now. I learned from my mistakes and am continuing on the way to becoming a better me. Even if these words / actions were used jokingly, I have not I never stopped thinking, “Could these words hurt someone?” and for this, I’m really sorry. Today I use my platform as an ally and I will continue to fight and be the voice for everyone, regardless of race, sexuality, sex or other! ”
