Honda ZR-V Hybrid Launched in India at Rs 47.99 Lakh

Honda Cars India has officially launched the ZR-V e:HEV in the country. According to Motoroids, the premium vehicle arrives carrying an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 47.99 lakh. Rushlane reports that deliveries commenced from 25th July 2026, following strong early demand.

The initial market response has proven encouraging. Rushlane notes that the first two allocated batches are already fully booked. The vehicle enters the market as a Completely Built Unit imported directly from Japan. It features a crossover style rather than a traditionally bulky SUV stance. Honda showcased the model earlier this year alongside the facelifted City.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the bonnet, the ZR-V features a 2.0-litre e:HEV Sports Hybrid system combining a direct-injection Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with a dual-motor setup, paired to an e-CVT. The system generates a combined output of 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque. Honda states the setup switches between Electric, Hybrid and Engine Drive modes depending on driving conditions.

According to Rushlane, the vehicle achieves a claimed 0-100 km/h takes a claimed 7.9 seconds alongside a fuel efficiency figure of 22.8 km/l. Independent suspension at all four corners, a sedan-like driving position, and a relatively low 180 mm ground clearance contribute to its sporty character. Rushlane reviewers noted its brisk acceleration and high-speed dynamics during test drives at the Buddh International Circuit.

Cabin and Features

Inside, the vehicle features an all-black cabin with leather upholstery. Technology inclusions consist of a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, alongside a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.

Buyers can choose from four exterior paint options: Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Crystal Black Pearl.

Safety and Warranty Coverage

The standard safety equipment list includes the Honda SENSING ADAS suite featuring Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist and Road Departure Mitigation. Furthermore, the model is equipped with 8 airbags, a 360-degree camera, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Descent Control and front and rear parking sensors.

Honda provides a standard warranty is three years with unlimited kilometres, alongside extended warranty is available for up to seven years. The lithium-ion hybrid battery gets an 8-year / 1.60 lakh km warranty, while hybrid components are covered for 5 years / 1 lakh km.

The ZR-V stands out as the only SUV in this segment with a strong hybrid petrol powertrain. It competes against models like the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron and Jeep Meridian. Globally, ZR-V has crossed cumulative sales of 8 lakh units since 2022.

Meanwhile, the wider domestic automotive sector continues to see simultaneous updates. According to Carandbike, Maruti Suzuki recently launched the 2026 Brezza facelift starting from Rs 7.40 lakh. The updated subcompact model introduces a new turbo-petrol powertrain, a 6-speed manual gearbox, and revised interior features to the subcompact market, competing against models like the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Kia Syros and the Skoda Kylaq.
