Jared Leto has issued a strong denial in response to a wave of serious new allegations detailing sexual misconduct, statutory rape, grooming, and threats of sexual assault. A woman using the pseudonym Isabel alleged that Leto sexually assaulted her inside a Las Vegas motel bathroom in 2002 when she was 17 years old. Another accuser, identified as Alex, alleged that Leto invited her to a hotel room following a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert in London in 2013. Alex stated that when she told Leto she was 17—despite actually being 19 at the time—he replied Age is just a number, and anyway, we're in Europe. She said she left after he repeatedly told her she would wake up with a d*** in her a**.

Further allegations come from a woman using the pseudonym Clara, who stated she first had sex with Leto at his California home in 2006 when she was 17 and he was 34. Clara alleged that Leto dismissed concerns regarding California's age of consent, which is 18, and referred to her as my little girl while asking her to call him daddy. A fourth woman, identified as Etta, alleged she was groomed after meeting Leto at a Los Angeles modeling agency in 2014 when she was 16. Etta told the BBC that Leto later subjected her to repeated sexually explicit phone calls inquiring about her virginity and suggesting they engage in sexual activity. Five additional women told the BBC they received sexually explicit phone calls from Leto while they were younger, with four identifying as teenagers at the time. A woman named Taylor alleged that Leto made a lewd comment about her body and attempted to have a security guard take her backstage after meeting him at a music festival when she was 14.
