Woakes struck early by removing Sol Budinger and inducing an edge from Jonny Tattersall into the slip hands of Rob Yates. Bamber then dismantled the remaining resistance with a five-wicket haul, capped by dismissing Tom Scriven shortly after lunch to trigger jubilant celebrations among the squad, including injured players such as Barker.

Elsewhere in the division, Kent secured promotion back to the top flight after their rivals Northamptonshire lost to Middlesex at Lord's.
