The U.S. Senate has officially confirmed Todd Blanche as Attorney General in a narrow 50-49 vote after the administration dropped a controversial fund.

The U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly to approve a sanctions package targeting Russia and Iran, named in honor of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Senator Mitch McConnell has left the rehabilitation facility where he stayed following a June fall and will continue his recovery at home. His prolonged absence has stalled over 50 Senate roll-call votes.

Senator Mitch McConnell confirmed that a fall led to his hospitalization for treatment of mild pneumonia and subsequent physical rehabilitation. He intends to continue working on legislative business from the facility while finishing his term.
