New technical education pathways for 14-year-olds and a £4,500 household bursary have been announced to tackle the rising number of NEETs.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham is introducing a universal credit top-up for families whose 16- or 17-year-old children leave education for an apprenticeship. The policy aims to offset child benefit losses and tackle rising youth unemployment.
