San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chis.- A score of deceased people have left the rains generated by the tropical depression Eta, which caused the growth of rivers and streams and the collapse of hills, in the municipalities of El Bosque, San Juan Chamula and La Grandeza.
Local authorities reported that at least 11 indigenous Tzotziles, among men, women and children, they lost their lives in the community Muquem, from the municipality of San Juan Chamula, when their homes were washed away by a stream.
Ten bodies were found in the Kaomtealhucum II community, Chenalhó municipality and the body of a child was found a few kilometers from where the houses are located.
The collapse of a hill in the Alta Gracia community, in the municipality of El Bosque, caused four Tzotziles who slept in a house were buried.
In the place worked elements of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), residents, lifeguards of Civil Protection and elements of the Municipal Police.
At 1:00 p.m. this Friday, the four bodies of the Alta Gracia community, a place located on the Puerto Caté-El Bosque highway, were rescued and transferred to the center of the community where they will be veiled.

In La Grandeza, in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, four children lost their lives and four more people were injured, due to the collapse of a hill, in the Toquían community.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Civil Protection reported that other landslides have been registered in La Grandeza and Oxchuc, but for now there are no fatalities.
