Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced plans to stage a three-night concert residency at the renovated National Theatre in Lagos, marking a major milestone for live music infrastructure in Nigeria. According to reporting from Mezha and The Nation Newspaper, the upcoming event is designed to celebrate his new album, Oriadé (also referenced as Oriade), his biggest hits, and a career spanning over a decade, while simultaneously positioning Africa as a destination capable of hosting world-class entertainment productions.

The residency is scheduled to run from December 17 to 19, bringing a production of unprecedented scale to the newly renovated cultural landmark. In interviews with The Nation Newspaper and CNN, the singer explained that the venue holds immense historical importance for the country's entertainment industry. He explicitly compared the space to iconic international arenas, stating that it serves as Africa's equivalent to Madison Square Garden.
