The Barcelona Management Commission confirmed this Monday, January 24, as the date of the elections to the club’s presidency, once agreed with the Generalitat (regional government) of Catalonia.
As reported by the club through a statement, December 16 is when the call will be officially published. Thus, between December 23 and January 11, the candidates will proceed to collect the 2,257 signatures of partners they need to become candidates. The electoral campaign will take place between January 15 and 22.
The club also reported that polling stations will be decentralized. In Barcelona, voting will take place at the Camp Nou facilities, there will also be venues in Tarragona, Tortosa, Lérida, Gerona and Andorra, as well as in Madrid, Seville, Valencia and Palma de Mallorca.
In the coming days the exact layout of the different voting points will be determined, as well as the specific protocols for each of the venues.
With the PROCICAT (Territorial Plan of Civil Protection of Catalonia) the final protocol will be reviewed, as well as that of each of the venues. In the case of the venues outside Catalonia, the Barça club reports that “the necessary steps are being taken” to guarantee adaptation to the health reality and the legislation of each community.
In this task, Barcelona has the collaboration of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Catalan Football Federation (FCF).
The Manager also reported that on the afternoon of this Monday, after weeks of negotiation, an agreement has been closed by the salary negotiation table, in this case in the area of corporate employees. This agreement is added to the principle of agreement reached last Friday with the players and technicians of the entity.
