The B-Travel tourist fair will be held again from June 11 to 13 in Barcelona, ”with an edition that aims to contribute to the reactivation of the Spanish tourism sector, an industry particularly affected by the effects of the pandemic and fundamental to the economy. “, according to Fira de Barcelona.
“The event, framed in the restart of the face-to-face activity of Fira de Barcelona, will bring together a wide sample of the best local, regional, national and international proximity destinations in Palace 8 of the Montjuïc fairgrounds”, explains the Barcelona fair entity .
In any case, the show will have a format “adapted to the current situation, and with all the security measures”.
In addition, the 2021 edition of B-Travel “will promote proximity and sustainable tourism, without neglecting the promotion of more distant and safe destinations for an audience, such as Catalan, which constitutes the largest market for travelers in southern Europe” .
The president of the organizing committee, Martí Sarrate, has stressed “the importance of holding this event in the current circumstances to respond to the need of the tourism sector to have a commercial and informative platform such as B-Travel.”
At the same time, he highlighted the role of the show as “an essential catalyst to promote the activity of all the agents that make up national tourism.”

Desire to travel again
For her part, the salon director, Marta Serra, explains: “The organization has worked closely with all sector representatives, from companies to travel agencies, through national and international promotion organizations, to design an event that is useful for their interests and attractive to the visitor, with more desire than never to travel again ”.
Among the already confirmed B-Travel exhibitors, the presence of Renfe, Agència Catalana de Turisme, Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Castilla y León, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Extremadura, Region of Murcia-Costa Cálida and Valencian Community, among others, stand out. , which will be present through their tourism promotion agencies.
Indonesia, Morocco and the Croatian city of Zagreb will also participate, among other international exhibitors.
In order to guarantee the safety of operators, exhibitors and visitors, in B-Travel 2021 the prevention and security protocol against Covid-19 that Fira de Barcelona has developed will be applied, with the advice of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.
The fair institution has also received the international Safe Travels seal awarded by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Return of face-to-face fairs in Barcelona
B-Travel will thus become the first face-to-face show that Fira de Barcelona will organize this year, “at a time when the institution resumes its activity to be an economic and social engine that contributes to post-pandemic recovery”, indicates the institution.
Thus, it is planned that, in addition to this show, the ISE, the largest event in the audiovisual sector in Europe, will be held from July 1 to 2, with a hybrid format adapted to the current context, it will be followed at the end of the month by MWC Barcelona and 4YFN.
During the month of July, the eShow e-commerce fair, the congress on the SDGs, BForplanet, and the Automobile Barcelona, among others, will take place.
After the summer, Fira will gradually recover its normal activity with shows such as Seafood, Expoquima, IoT Solutions World Congress, the Boat Show, Caravaning or Smart City World Congress.
